LOUISVILLE, KY … Designing for the future demands that environmental considerations take a leading role for 21stCentury building product manufacturers. In order to meet emerging needs that include specifying to the highest environmental standards like the Living Building Challenge and LEED Version 4, Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation announces that it is partnering with Valspar to offer the company’s Fluropon® Pure coatings on its metal panels. Metal Sales™ is the first metal panel manufacturer to offer Fluropon Pure.

Visit Metal Sales – Booth #19 – at the Living Future unConference, May 11-13 in Seattle to learn more about the new offering.

Fluropon Pure is a PVDF paint system formulated for compliance to the Living Building Challenge’s stringent requirements for hazardous material reduction. Fluropon Pure answers that call, while providing all of the high-performance properties of the original PVDF paint system that has performed so well for decades. The coating is ideal for buildings with extreme environmental requirements, or anywhere a greener product is needed.

Architects will now be able to specify Metal Sales wall and roof systems with the Fluropon Pure paint system for any project that demands hazardous material reduction (e.g. Living Building Challenge, LEED v4).

“Metal Sales prides itself on leading the way when it comes to product innovation and providing solutions that support important trends in design and construction,” says Scott Bacon, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Metal Sales. “Being the first to partner with Valspar on this exciting new development demonstrates our commitment to environmental responsibility in a new era of building design and construction.”

Metal Sales was also the first metal panel manufacturer to exhibit at the Living Future unConference, and the first to be included in the International Living Future Institute’s Declare™ program. Declare created a “Red List” of chemicals and materials that should not be contained in today’s building products. In 2013, Metal Sales fully disclosed all of the ingredients in its Acrylic-coated Galvalume® roof and wall panels as Red List-free through Declare.
